Chestnuts roasting on an open fire....
Have you ever tried it? Roasting those chestnuts over an open (or any) fire? I finally got around to it a few years ago, and I'm all afire for them every Christmas, now. Rodale's article will help you get them done in short order. Afterwards, eat them straight out of hand, or put them to a roasty, nutty, delicious use. We're having this NY Times Roasted Chestnut Soup tonight, inspired by, of course, Mr. Nat King Cole........

ReplyDeleteOne time I made it with hazelnuts, because I thought they looked like chestnuts and would be the same but just, you know,"littler". Yeah, it didn't work.
