(Almost) Wordless Wednesday Austin: The Big City Beckoned
"Like the others, they were country people, but how soon country people forget. When they fall in love with a city it is forever, and it is like forever. As though there never was a time when they didn't love it. The minute they arrive at the train station or get off the ferry and glimpse the wide streets and the wasteful lamps lighting them, they know they are born for it. There, in a city, they are not so much new as themselves: their stronger, riskier selves."
Toni Morrison Jazz Next week on Notes From Maggie's Farm, join me as I celebrate the city to which I've returned, Austin, in all it's food-loving, weird and wonderful glory.
That was the parking lot in back of the Whole Foods Headquarters. I think that is a marketing vehicle for a local biz, because I've seen it parked around, but I thought, this particular day, that it was a great metaphor for country in the city...lol All those high rises around downtown, now!
Great pic-is that in the parking lost of Book People or your new digs?
