  1. Siddhartha - Hesse
    The Dharma Bums - Kerouac
    The Razor's Edge - Maugham

All books I will read every few years to remember it is okay to explore and not always know where you are going. The walk is part of the living.

    1. Kerouac goes with me on every vacation. I something don't even get to crack the book, but it's comforting knowing he's "On the Road" with me. Thanks for stopping by and commenting, John!

  2. I don't think of these books so much life changing as friends that as always with me...
She's Come Undone - Wally Lamb
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close - Jonathan Safran Foer
    The Road - Cormac McCarthy
and one I just finished reading, which I loved was The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.

And I need a new one, looking for recommendations!

    1. I just loved She's Come Undone, too, and I've read many of McCarthy's, but not The Road, although I've heard great things. A book that recently had me up till all hours was Gone, Girl. But the ending. ARGHHHHH. Thanks so much for stopping by, Heather.

  3. Road Less Traveled - the section on love shaped my philosophy on love and commitment
On Love - A novel by contemporary philosopher Alain de Botton - I'm rereading it now and I still love it. It's a novel written almost like a dissertation presenting love in all its stages and as cyclical.

I'm still recovering from finishing Lonesome Dove a couple of days ago.

Just Kids by Patti Smith. memoir. friendship. life. creative life. love loss. SO GOOD.

    1. Linda, I was thinking of you yesterday as I perused an independent book store in Oklahoma City and waited for the book that I was there to by to discover me. You're reading list is always so interesting to me, and I thought, 'What would Linda like?'.

      Thanks for chiming in!

  4. I think every book I've read helped change my life in a tiny way. Whether it be an enjoyment novel or an academic textbook, all words have pushed me to reconsider my thoughts/beliefs/etc. It's just another reason I adore books :)

    1. That's a great point, Caitlin. And just the revolutionary act of reading a book-- any book-- sets the tide of change in motion.

      Thank you for dropping by!
