I'm listening to that diversity comment, and wondering if there will be any reaction to it in terms of what studios offer, what studios choose to campaign for as far as nominations go, and what people will be interested in seeing. I'd be interested to see a study on movie viewer demographics. I think the exclusion of Gone Girl in any significant way (which I didn't expect to enjoy in film but really did) shows that the Academy doesn't exactly have it's finger on the pulse of the movie-going public, but then again, who am I? lol I'm thinking this won't be the last of my Oscar posts...lol

Thanks again for stopping by!
MaggieNotes from Maggie's Farmhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07988466982319140284noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2480917655760821690.post-87539835940283958362015-01-15T22:19:47.195-06:002015-01-15T22:19:47.195-06:00I have Oscar fever, too! I have only seen 4 of the 8 films nominated (Birdman, Whiplash, Grand Budapest Hotel, Boyhood), so I have some catching up to do in the next month or so. They say this year's nominees are not very diverse compared to last year's (subjects of nominated films are all about white men, no women--like Wild--in best picture category, best director noms are all men). Still, it should be interesting...thanks for the post.Cathyhttp://www.forksupblog.comnoreply@blogger.com
